Luminous Shadows
I collected these glass fragments while exploring a rocky coastline. Rather than seeking typical "pretty" sea glass, I am drawn to pieces with unusual shapes and weathered textures, and I photograph them in the low, raking light of winter.
When illuminated, these fragments cast luminous shadows that reveal their hidden characteristics. Contours emerge that I never would have expected from their original forms, unveiling random patterns and intricate textures. It is the moment when unexpected beauty is born from the debris cast away on the shore.
